Ashcourt Group Introduces Anick Grange Quarry in Northumberland

As part of our continued regional growth, we are pleased to introduce Anick Grange Quarry, one of our newest operational sites located in Hexham, Northumberland.

The quarry marks an important step in our expansion across the North East, strengthening our ability to supply high-quality sand and gravel products to customers throughout the region. With significant reserves available on site, Anick Grange Quarry will play a key role in supporting local construction, infrastructure and development projects for many years to come.

The site contains approximately 5.8 million tonnes of sand and gravel reserves, with material being extracted from both above and below the water table. Products available from the quarry include sharp sand, suitable for concrete production, and building sand for general construction use.

While the quarry will provide an important source of locally available materials, the project also has a strong focus on restoration and environmental enhancement. As extraction progresses, the site will be gradually restored to create a network of lakes, wetlands and wildlife habitats.

This progressive restoration approach will help deliver long-term biodiversity benefits for the local area, creating spaces where nature can thrive once areas of the quarry have been worked.
