Project Description

Our concrete team were tasked with a large concrete job for customer I & H Brown, consisting of over 5,500m3 of our C28/35 S3 concrete, supplied over a period of 12 months.

The concrete was used to create all of the shed structure and foundations, substation foundations, two weighbridges, all floors and kerbs for a 6,600m2 grain storage warehouse at the Port of Hull. The warehouse has a capacity of 40,386 tonne with a four bay configuration and is used to store agricultural products of wheat and grain. It is split into 4 bays that are made up of 7m high by 500mm deep push walls, with 7m high and 7m wide roller shutter doors for access to each bay.

Working with their dedicated key account manager, I & H Brown were able to benefit from other Ashcourt divisions for fuel, logistics and aggregates. Keeping everything inhouse enabled us to improve efficiency, reduce costs, provide technical help and offer onsite advice and solutions.

During this project, we faced some challenges of material shortages due to COVID-19, however with full communication from all involved we worked well to replan and meet the tight schedules and deadlines required.

Let's discuss your next project...
